Indiscipline Cruise 2000
|
| September 20 - October 4. We travel down the Hudson River to New York City and then around Sandy Hook to jump onto the New Jersey ICW making our way to Cape May. There we wait for good weather before taking on the Delaware Bay. |
|
Lock 1, our final lock on the Erie Canal. This is a federal lock, so it's a free one (thank you tax payers). |
| "Oh no, not another lock," says Spike. Yes, but
it is the last one.
Well not really, but don't tell the crew that we have two more on the Dismal Swamp Canal in North Carolina. |

We passed by Albany where some of the sailboats have their masts put back up. Throughout the canals, everybody has been a motor vessel. |
| Take a number and wait your turn for the crane. |

Our canal friends, Dennis and Barbara, are next in line. They could hardly wait to be a sailboat again. I wonder if we will recognize them. |
| We continued down the Hudson to Catskills Creek. This was another popular spot for sailboats to have their masts put up. |

This is a lift bridge on the Hudson. |
| The Hudson River is an industrious place. There are huge freighters that drop off and pickup stuff. | ![]() |
