The Log of Indiscipline III

New Years Day Race 2006

Ken at the helm for our 07:30 departure from Mission Bay
Classical Cat headed out the channel
Some quite large breaking seas were there to greet us!
The look of concern on our skipper's face.
Once outside, it was manageable.  We had to motor all the way to Point Loma in light morning air and large ground swells.
Down by Point Loma we saw the blimp.
Checking out the competition pre-race.
Setting the race marks,
Our competition.  The PHRF spinnaker class slower than 132 had to fly "something" green.
Watching the big boats.
Dennis Conner's boat.
In the afternoon, the winds came up nicely.  Getting passed by the boat that was to be the winner.
Gary blanketing Staghound, taking their air.
Heading home, it turned out to be 11 hours at sea with the last 1 or 2 in darkness with rain and cold.
I was Mr. Foredeck for the day.

It was an adventure and a great time was had by all!
